杉並区では杉並区交流協会と連携して、区役所1階区政相談課に「外国語サポートデスク」を設置し、外国人住民の手続きの通訳・補助、また困りごとの相談を外国語で受けています。

また、区立学校や区の相談窓口からの依頼に応じて、面談の際などに外国語の通訳者を派遣しています。
近年、区内に住むネパールの方々が増えており、これに伴ってネパール語での相談対応や通訳依頼も増加傾向にあります。
そこで、新たに2025年10月から活動してくださるネパール語の相談員・通訳を募集します。
【活動していただく場面】
【要件】
上記の要件に合致していなくても、「ネパール語喋れる人知っているよ！」「漢字は書けないけど日本語の会話は上手なネパールの人を知ってるよ！」という情報でも良いので、お知らせください。自薦だけでなく、他薦でも構いません。

Suginami City Seeks Nepali Interpreters!
In collaboration with the Suginami Association for Cultural Exchange, Suginami City have a “Support Desk in Foreign Languages” on the first floor of the Suginami City Office. This desk provides interpretation and assistance for procedures, as well as consultations in foreign languages for foreign residents facing difficulties.

Additionally, we dispatch foreign language interpreters for interviews and other situations upon request from municipal schools and offices.
In recent years, the number of Nepalese residents in the district has increased, leading to a corresponding rise in requests for consultations and interpretation in Nepali.
Therefore, we are recruiting new Nepali-speaking advisors and interpreters to work from October 2025.
【Areas of Activity】
1. Support Desk in Foreign Languages (Nepali)
・Every Wednesday, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, approximately 1-2 times per month
2. Interpreter Dispatch
・Travel to municipal schools and public institutions to provide interpretation for consultations, parent-teacher conferences, etc. (Irregular schedule)
※You may apply to participate in only one of the above areas (1 or 2).
【Requirements】
1. Fluency in both Nepali and Japanese for smooth conversation. (This involves interpreting for Nepali residents during procedures at service counters, assisting with document completion, and addressing concerns.)
2. Nationality is not a factor. For non-native Japanese speakers, Japanese proficiency should be around N2 level.
3. Honorarium provided
Even if you don't meet the above requirements, please let us know if you know someone who speaks Nepali or a Nepali person who is good at conversational Japanese but cannot write kanji. Self-recommendations and recommendations of others are both welcome.

- 通訳派遣：区立の学校や公共機関に赴き、相談や三者面談等の通訳を行う（不定期）
【要件】
- ネパール語と日本語で会話がスムーズにできる方。（ネパール人住民の窓口での手続きの通訳、書類の記入補助、また困りごとの相談対応等が必要です。）
- 国籍は問いません。日本語が母語でない方の場合、日本語レベルの目安はN2程度。
- 謝礼あり
